A Wedding!

Warning: SUPER LONG POST!
I feel like I need to get this Texas show on the road because I have other things to blog about!  So I'm cramming all the wedding festivities into one super amazing post.
Enjoy.

We returned to our very favorite Texas BBQ, The Feed Store for a "rehearsal dinner."  Only there was no wedding rehearsal so it was really more like a get-all-the-families-together-to-eat-bbq-and-celebrate dinner!  Perfect!

Also there was a major Texas thunderstorm.
I love thunderstorms.

Aunt Kari kisses for Avery

After dinner, the groom-to-be took all the men (and boys) to a movie.  Apparently at this theater you can push a button and people bring you food!  And drinks!  Which I guess was more amazing than Rihanna's attempt at acting in Battleship.  But this is all here-say, because I wasn't there.

I was here!
The wedding reception was to be at this amazing house and we had a "bachelorette party" which really meant all the women (and girls) got together to decorate, eat cake, and give the bride-to-be presents.
(Way better than Battleship any day.  If you ask me.)

I have to say, it turned out pretty amazing.
I had nothing to do with anything in this picture.

Or this.  (Maybe that's why they look so good?!)

It was after 9:00 that my poor sister finally got to open gifts!

And the next day she got married!!

Woohoo!

We're a pretty awesome bunch, I know.
Please enjoy how Avery appears to be escaping.  Or pushing us out of the way.  I'm not sure which is the more likely scenario here.

And for my personal indulgence, I present to you a bit of wedding photo chaos.  .Gif style:

Why am I running into the photo?  I'm pretty sure Avery was about to eat something inedible.

And just when we were wondering where one of the little girls was, she walked right into the picture!

It's a good thing she made it, because her hair bows are the best things ever!

The women in my family.
We are so cool.

I seriously have the most beautiful sisters.  Ever.

Tootin' my own horn!  I made my sister's bouquet!  I'd never worked with flowers before and now I am hooked.  It was so much fun!  And I love how it turned out!  You don't have to agree with me, but just pretend like you do, k?  Now who is getting married soon that will let me tie their bouquets?!?

Ok ok this is the best part of the whole wedding day.
(Besides the actual wedding, of course)
Family portrait attempt with a 10 month old.

...

 Yes.  The best ever.
Me, Kyle, Avery, and Kyle's elusive ghost hand that I scream at him about every time we take pictures.
"HAND OFF THE SHOULDER!!!"
Also, Avery's face.
The best.

I'm framing this one for our living room.

And..... on to the reception!

I love that my sister ordered Nothing Bundt Cakes for the reception.  They were so cute and SO tasty!

Remember these hair bows?
Eee!
She is so cute.

I was in charge of slicing cake.
It is a total coincidence that my knife is pointing at that guy's head.
I don't even know who he is.

See that berry meringue peaking behind the cakes?  It was TO DIE FOR.  I ate a lot of it.  I found the recipe and I think I'll make it for Avery's birthday.  If you're good, I might even share it with you.
(The recipe, not the meringue.  It's too good to share.)

Those sweet hair bows conned me into giving her a piece of cake before she ate her dinner!
I kind of got her in trouble.

But it was kind of worth it.

Please.  I don't know what my mom is doing but I think it's hilarious.

My adorable parents.
(funny side note: my dad accidentally bought and wore the same tie as the groom.  we figured it out at the wedding.  ha!)

Can I please have this kitchen?

And to round it all off, I end with another family portrait.
With no creepy ghost hand or screaming baby face.

Congratulations Kelli and Robert!

In New Zealand they call that meringue a pavlova (or pav for short). Yum. I have an egg free PKU version that I really want to try as well!
